Good News

Hello friends,

Ok let's see by show of hands, who has their Christmas shopping finished? Wow quite a few of you, alright way to go, you must be fly lady christmas cruisers. I know that Debby participates in the fly lady structure each year and this structure or gameplan lays out the necessary steps to take in order to get all of the "stuff" surrounding Christmas done before December 1. Debby has done this for the past several years, heck she has a notebook where she will write notes for the next year. The notes will remind her of activities that were memorable, or she'll jot down a note in her handy dandy notebook to send out cards to everyone the following year, or she'll remind herself where the various wrapping paper, candles, wreaths are tucked away in the attic (my personal note is to watch out for those nails i always run into each year). The notebook is a reminder of some exciting moments, moments that are defined with exclamation points.

Good News is the reason for the season folks!

Luke 2:10-11 (NLT) but the angel reassured them. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news of great joy for everyone! v11 The Savior--yes, the Messiah, the Lord--has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

And when we look up the meaning of the word gospel, guess what? I know I know I know yea it means: YES GOOD NEWS, GLAD TIDINGS...go to your concordance or blueletter.org (type in gospel and get ready to celebrate)

Look what Jesus was preaching when he entered into a town Mark 1:14 (NLT) Later on, after John was arrested by Herod Antipas, Jesus went to Galilee to preach God's Good News. v15 "At last the time has come!" he announced. "The Kingdom of God is near! Turn from your sins and believe this Good News!"

The reference is just one of many that state the GOOD NEWS or GOSPEL depending on the translation that you are holding.

Hey here is an idea let's go back and read the birth accounts in Matthew, and Luke....let's count the exclamation points that provide emphasis, excitement to the statement and as we recall the reason for that particular exclamation point, recall some of yours!

This has been a year filled with good news for debby and i as we have seen marriages heal before our eyes through the power of Jesus Christ. And we have watched some not make it. The difference is the center piece of this season JESUS CHRIST! When we continue to learn how to place HIM at the center of our everything the exclamation points start adding up......

Let's continue our celebration not only throughout this month, not only throughout next week, but for the rest of our lives, let's continue to help each other to live out the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ each day in our homes, in our vocation and in our communities..... Have a Merry CHRISTmas! and we pray for some exclamation points in your life.

love em up!
